My Ripponburn Ladies 7:15

Nellie is back, and Ina!! And I forgot the swatch sticks so had to put all the polish on a tray to show. That was dumb. Don't know how that happened. So I kind of ended up choosing the colours for everyone, which was fine. Margaret decided to keep her mani from last time. It still looked fab and she loved the mint green and poppy. So I touched up the end a tad and recoated with top coat.

Gladys
Jenny
Gladys of course said "anything" so I tried a duo mani of metallics. And Jenny jetted for the dusty blue.

Doris
Joan
I know Doris wanted a red tone so we did a jelly red-pink with a bit of a ruffian. And Miss Joan got pink, though she said she might shock me and get another colour!!! But she folded --- ha! It is a great pink for her skin tone.

Iris
Nellie
Yay, I had a newbie!!!! Iris! She also opted for the pretty pink as Mum's Day is coming up. And Nellie had the most elegant mani: grey-on-grey. Looked really really nice – she has the hands and nails for it!

Ina
Hellie
Ina surprised with a non-magnetic!! I love that dusty green, and look how ridgeless her nails look when I use the ridge filler base??!! Hellie got the same dark burgundy – looks good on her and I know she likes it.

Lilian was last this time. She had just had some eye surgery so I didn't know if she would be around. But she chose a great magnetic green, love it!

Mani breakdown:
all had Seche Clear as a base, two coats of base polish and Out the Door as a top coat. Then an almond oil cuticle wash.

Gladys: base CND Gilded Pleasure and CND Locket Love diagonal tips
Jenny: CND Vinylux Blue Rapture
Doris: SpaRitual Drop Dead Gorgeous with ruffian in Zoya London
Joan: SpaRitual Quiet Storm
Iris: SpaRitual Quiet Storm
Nellie: Layla Magnetic Blue Grey Flow with Zoya Nyx tips
Ina: CND Sage Scarf
Hellie: CND Vinylux Dark Lava
Jenny: CND Vinylux Dark Lava
Lilian: Layla Magnetic Mojito

My Ripponburn Ladies 6:15

Since it was just before Anzac Day weekend, everybody got a poppy on their nails!! Freehand using Zoya Sooki, a pretty poppy red. Nellie wasn't there this time as she is away in Dunedin hospital. And Ina was feeling a bit sick, so she stayed in her room.

Janice
This time I brought only CND Vinylux, Layla Magnetics and a couple of pinks. The CND has great staying power and with over 20 of them in my studio, a nice selection. Still, they all take the same!!! Oh I will confess, no poppy for Janice as that will just not work out. Her hands have a mind of their own and I hold her hand as long as I can for the polish to dry (need to pop some sand polishes in my bag for the future).

Gladys
Margaret
Mint green was a great combo for the poppy, it turned out. On the darker ones I used a base of CND Powder my Nose.

Hellie
Jenny
The pinot wine colour was very popular, the second time in a row for Jenny!!

Lilian
Thelma
Thelma took what Lilian had last time, thinking she was outsmarting Lilian. But then Lilian changed her mind again and took something totally different. Haha! Lilian wants to be different than anyone else. I think that is great, too many look at the one colour on someone and say, "ooooh, I'll have that, too". Be unique!!!

Joan
And.... Miss Joan got pink!!!

Mani breakdown:
all had Seche Clear as a base, two coats of base polish and Out the Door as a top coat. Then an almond oil cuticle wash.

Janice: CND Vinylux PurplePurple
Gladys: alternating CND Sage Scarf and CND Powder my Nose
Margaret: CND Mint Convertible
Hellie: CND Vinylux Dark Lava
Jenny: CND Vinylux Dark Lava
Lilian: SpaRitual Drop Dead Gorgeous
Thelma: CND Vinylux Tropix
Joan: SpaRitual Quiet Storm

Nellie
I was very glad to see Nellie sitting in the group when I arrived!! Go Nellie!!! I hope she is still around next time. Apparently things aren't looking good, but you never know do you....

Hellie
Jenny
Hellie and Jenny were first up. I brought a different selection this time: all my Layla magnetics and all my CND Vinylux plus a couple of pinks for "you know who"! I always remember to stash in some glitter as well.

Nellie

Darker was definitely on the menu with most choosing something deeper. Sometimes I think they are influenced by what I am wearing and I still had on the pinot red and grey mani. But Miss Joan loves her pink and I brought a newbie for her: a SpaRitual even!!!

Dorothy
Doris
Today was Dorothy's last day as she is shifting town and house and kit and caboodle down south where all her children and grandchildren live. She love metallics and both she and Doris chose a gold shimmer.

Gladys
Ina
Gladys let me do whatever I wanted though she liked purple and the magnetics so it was more her choice this time!!! And I knew Ina would want magnetics!!

Lilian
Thelma
Lilian is so funny! It is very important to her to have something no one else has and when she first chose a colour here comes Thelma and says she'll take the same. So Lilian secretively changed her colour!! But Thelma's (and also Margaret's) base pink is really pretty. A sheer SpaRitual but the colour really pops!

Margaret

Mani breakdown:

Nellie
Nellie is back!!! But I am very afraid to say that it may not be for long. She seems to be really sick. That is a bit sad. Her hands and nails are as gorgeous as ever, though they have trimmed the nails down. I was happy to see her, though, and hope very much to see her again in two weeks.

Gladys
Lilian
I was batting a thousand as I remembered everything!! The cuticle oil and the ridge filler top coat for Ina. I took out the oil to refill a couple of times ago then left it somewhere and forgot to repack. So everyone got oil today. Not a lot of takers on my green palette for St Paddy's Day. Just Gladys and Lilian, though Lilian's is more that teal-blue-somewhere-inbetween colour.

Ina - ridge filler helping heaps
Ina chose her fav magnetic again and I think the ridge filler has really helped the look of this mani! A couple of nails are still growing out from breakage but the base coat does wonders in creating a smooth finish. I did a double coat of the Layla for depth, meaning the magnetic effect doesn't go on till coat two. Ina was so funny!! She kept looking at her nails during the first coat, then back at me... and I know she thought I was forgetting the whole effect!!! Haha!!

Joan
Thelma
Margaret
The pink and red brigade was out and about again! I did bring some different hues this time – can't have the same colour e-v-e-r-y time! And Hellie is also back!!! Both she and Dorothy went for metallic shimmer duochromes. Dorothy could be moving as she may move to where her family is down south. Nice for her, of course, but I will miss her. Love how the purple duochrome matches her rings!

Hellie
Dorothy
Mani breakdown:
all had Seche Clear as a base, two coats of base polish and Out the Door as a top coat. After pics then an almond oil cuticle wash.

Nellie: China Glaze Hey Sailor
Gladys: OPI Jade is the new Black topped with Orly Monster Mash
Lilian: NOPI Alex by the Books
Ina: Layla Golden Bronze
Joan: Kyo Kyo dusty rose
Thelma: Ulta Strawberry Sundae
Margaret: China Glaze Hey Sailor topped with BYS Cold as Ice
Hellie: Color Club Model Behavior
Dorothy: China Glaze No Plain Jane over black

Ina
When I arrived today everyone was seated by the back window in a circle. I thought they were all listening to someone ! But no, they were just enjoying the sun - was a beautiful day. Nine ladies today, and I think we had some repeat manis even though I encourage them to do something different!

Janice
Janice was back and I had brought three different liquid sands for her. Nails have to go fast with Janice and the sand option is great. Dries fast and you don't need a top coat. She loves blue so this time we tried a dusty blue. Just one coat.

Thelma
Gladys
After Thelma had her mani she insisted that Gladys have the exact one!! Gladys almost always lets me do whatever I want, but Thelma was very insistent!! Then she left the room and didn't even watch - too funny!!

Doris
Joan
And Doris was back, too. She chose a rather ho-hum shade of pink but I didn't care! It was nice for her to be back with the girls. When Miss Joan heard this, she was all set for that pink, too. I refused! She got a brighter pink with some alternating accents in the grey sand. Nothing boring for Joan!!

Margaret
In fact, Margaret chose the Revlon as well but told me secretly she thought it was a bit boring. I said, got that right! So she had the Gladys mani from last time: green on green!

Lilian wanted something bright that no one else had, and Dorothy chose a pretty metallic. I accidentally pushed a button on Dot's chair and I thought she was going to run us over!! I tell you, those automatic wheelchairs are a death trap!!

Ina
This brings us to Ina! She got a blinged up mani from her one choice as she had to wait so long for her turn. Her daughter was visiting all the way from Holland - such a wonderful surprise and experience for her. I actually had a cuppa break this arvo and ate some delicious chocolate cake!!! Yum as.

Mani breakdown:
all had Seche Clear as a base, two coats of base polish and Out the Door as a top coat. After pics then an almond oil cuticle wash.

Janice: Zoya Nyx
Thelma & Gladys: Layla Fuchsia Sky topped with Nostalgic Lacquer Gluttony
Doris: Revlon Innocent
Joan: OPI I Think in Pink, accents in Zoya Nyx
Margaret: CND Mint Convertible topped with China Glaze Pine-ing for Glitter
Dorothy: Layla Golden Bronze
Lilian: Thai flower pot orange and yellow
Ina: Color Club Model Behaviour in ruffian with China Glaze Mahoganie
